This brandmark is York and North Yorkshire, celebrating rurality, communities, connectivity, but presented with an innovative twist. Like this brandmark, our region is distinct and there is more than meets the eye, so let’s champion this. Undulating lines interlock to denote a familiar story; historic city walls, rugged coastline, the Dales and Moors, landmark bridges and our harvested fields, symbolising our rural strengths. At the heart of the design is a chequered centre, serving as a nod to our dedicated Police, Fire and Crime services who are a vital link in keeping our communities safe. You might see the letter ‘Y’ throughout, but there is a more powerful story being told, one of growth that is emerging from York and North Yorkshire. This abstract portrayal sows the seeds of our innovation and ambition within our traditional strengths. A solid authoritative structure shows our resilience, resourcefulness and how we want to change the way people see us. We are York and North Yorkshire – a city region, rural powerhouse.
